This was announced by Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer, HMD Global via a tweet, who also asked users to give their feedback on the Nokia 6 Android Oreo Beta Labs build. The India rollout comes a few weeks after the Oreo beta update for 6 was back in December. The smartphone runs a stock version of Android Nougat and sports a full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display. The project aims at bringing low-tier smartphones with excellent performance, as the normal Operating System would bring a hard time in running the apps and background processes to the low-specced devices. I understand that some of you may have been waiting for this. For one, the image on the left has its camera module integrated with the rest of the polycarbonate body. On the processor front, it could feature Qualcomm or a MediaTek chip coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. HMD Global has promised that the smartphone will be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo in the near future.
HMD Global brought Nokia 2 as its lowest priced Android smartphone in October.
Just like the previous Nokia 6, the Nokia 6 (2018) is machined from series 6000 aluminium and looks premium and classy. These images show the back of the phone in a matte gray finish. With the recently leaked images, we can say that the device bears the same design as the recently launched Nokia 2. In addition, the smartphone retains the 3.5mm headphone jack which is fast becoming extinct in smartphones these days and supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/A-GPS, Apt-X and GLONASS.
