Fisher had other reasons for wanting a restart on his career after 11 seasons at FSU (three as coach-in-waiting, eight as head coach).
Taggart is reportedly being wooed by Florida State as a possible replacement for the outgoing Jimbo Fisher, but on Saturday night he tweeted, "Looking forward to a great day tomorrow with our team".
Isaac Taylor-Stuart is one of the top cornerbacks nationally and his recruitment continues to stay wide open.
Those words wont smooth over any hurt feelings in Tallahassee about the way Fisher left one day before the regular-season finale, after weeks of silence over his future.
Of course you guys remember that Candi Fisher, Jimbo's ex, reportedly had a little extramarital fun and led to the couple divorcing a few years ago. But it is clear the Aggies are committed to one thing - winning.
No state funds were used for Fisher's contract, meaning no student tuition or tax payer money will be going into it.
Wrote Adam Kramer of Bleacher Report, "I admire A&M's willingness to cut the (brakes) on its car with a thousand pounds of fireworks in the back and make sure we know about it". It's such an established program and has everything there to compete for ACC and national championships.
"Jimbo is among the best football coaches in America and a perfect fit for A&M". "But with the people I'm working with, with the place I'm going and (Woodward) explaining the things to me, as I researched, I thought it was an opportunity I just couldn't pass up, and a challenge that I thought that was out there that I just couldn't pass up".
What was even more remarkable is that the Aggies got their top choice coach with somewhat ease.
"[We feel] a real responsibility to ensure that we're really spending [the funds] in a place that really brings the kind of excellence to this institution that the institution deserves", Young said. "We are thrilled to welcome Jimbo to the Aggie Family".
Sharp, the state's comptroller for most of the 1990s, obviously doesn't care about the critics - he believes the Aggies have finally hired their coach who will lead them to their first national title since 1939.
It's rare for a head coach to leave the school where he won an Associated Press national title to go straight to another college job.
