The IDF two weeks ago detonated a terrorist tunnel in Israeli territory, an area under Israeli Sovereignty.

Tension has increased between Israel and PIJ after the IDF destroyed a tunnel in Israeli territory which had been dug by the PIJ.

Abbas, who heads the Fatah party, also said his faction was working hard to implement the recently signed reconciliation deal with rival Gaza-based terror group Hamas in order to achieve Arafat's "dream... for freedom, sovereignty and independence on our Palestinian national soil".

The Israeli army has deployed anti-rocket batteries of its "Iron Dome" air defense system at key points in the country to guard against retaliation by the Palestinian group Islamic Jihad, Israeli media reported late Monday. Twelve Hamas and PIJ fighters, including senior military commanders, were killed in the subsequent explosions in the tunnel.

In the video, Mordechai said Israel is aware of Islamic Jihad attack plans, warning the group of a "harsh and determined Israeli response".

Islamic Jihad, on their part, has sent instructions to their followers to commit a major terrorist attack against Israel as soon as possible.

In his YouTube message, Mordechai referred to those reconciliation efforts, saying the Palestinian Islamic Jihad was "playing with fire" and potentially threatening them, as well as the safety of Gaza Strip residents.

Meanwhile, the IDF is on high alert along the Israel-Gaza border.

Prime Minister Netanyahu also warned the various terrorist groups against attacking Israel. "We will take a very strong hand against anyone who tries to attack us or attacks us from any sector".

"In any case, we hold Hamas responsible for any attack against us originating from Gaza or organised there", he said of the group that runs the Gaza Strip.
