Or even at Rs 39,999. The device is Amazon exclusive and is priced at Rs 36,999.

There are a couple of factors that help set the Nokia 8 apart, most prominently its support for a stock Android experience and Bothies feature.

HMD Global has finally launched this year's flagship smartphone, the Nokia 8 in India. Even at that price, I was convinced Nokia was sure to have victor on their hands. Nokia 8 in Polished Copper will be available a few weeks after the launch.

The only thing missing might be the bezel-less display that is all the craze these days among smartphone manufacturers.

Nokia has an offer for Jio customers where they will get up to 100GB additional 4G data on purchase of Nokia 8. We couldn't spend much time with the phone to draw a conclusion on Bothie.

The Nokia 8 runs on pure Android. It uses optics from renowned German brand Zeiss. Just like the Nokia 6 and Nokia 5, the build quality is impeccable.

For iOS lovers, Apple iPhone 6S is the best choice in this price range. iPhone 6s is equipped with a 4.7 inch IPS display with a resolution of 750 x 1334 whereas Nokia's flagship comes with a 5.3-inch IPS QHD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The phone is powered by Octa-Core Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform with 4GB RAM DDR4X RAM and Adreno 504 GPU. Nokia 8 has full unibody design and is made from a single block of 6000 series aluminium and select models feature a high-gloss mirror finish. With slightly curved edges, the phone is comfortable to hold and operate with one hand. The device runs on Oxygen OS based on Android Nougat (7.1.1) and houses a 3300mAh battery with Dash Charge. But that doesn't mean Nokia 8 is not tough and can not withstand damages. The ZEISS powered dual cameras on board are also on point - in the time I used the phone, it produced crisp, detailed and well exposed images with minimal noise in artificial light. Take LG G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8 for example. On the front, the Nokia branding is visible on the top right. There is also Nokia Ozo spatial 360° audio for surround sound when recording and during playback. Nokia 8 is here to give its competition a serious headache.

Overall, I feel that Nokia has played too safe with the design part resulting in a product that does not have any standout visual feature. The response for the Nokia 3,5 and 6 has been overwhelming. And to an extent I agree with that - all three of those phone come with compromised specifications for the price.

There is also a 13 mega pixel auto focus front facing camera with PDAF and wide angled lens.
