After excitedly announcing Face ID, Craig Federighi, Senior VP of Software Engineering, bounded over to the iPhone waiting for him on the side of the stage. EBay wrote me this: "eBay has taken a look at sales data and how a release of this magnitude with a complete form factor re-design is likely to shake up the electronics resale market". So, the cost of production of the top Apple iPhone X with 256 GB of internal memory is 413 U.S. dollars, and in Russia this device will be sold in nearly 100 000.
Who can forget "you are holding it wrong" and the sudden insistence that the iPhone needed a rubber band put around it.
And that's no surprise, given that the iPhone X represents a major overhaul from its predecessors, enough that CEO Tim Cook called it the "future of the smartphone".
The iPhone X will be available for pre-order October 27th and will presumably ship a few days later. Best Buy also seems to have no issues shipping the iPhone 8 on Verizon, AT&T and Sprint contracts. The EMIs for the 256GB variant will start from Rs 2,632 per month. These are controlled by a performance and power scaling block, which was the new addition with Dynamiq.
If you're worried about Face ID failing when you try to unlock your iPhone X because you're wearing sunglasses, don't be. Out of utter embarrassment, Face ID demo badly failed on the event.
Also, Samsung recently launched Galaxy S8 and Note 8 would soon be available from September 15. It uses FaceID to unlock the phone and authenticate payments. Its algorithms have been fine-tuned to not get thrown off by low-light environments, make-up, facial hair, and the inevitable process of aging. So that's another thing to keep in mind as you decide whether you want the iPhone X.
On the other hand, the 32GB variant of the iPhone 7 Plus, which was earlier available for Rs 67,300 is now available for Rs 59,000.
