Manchester City could finalise Benjamin Mendy signing this week

Ryan Bertrand has been linked on and off with a possible move to City over the summer and today's press reports suggest an official bid is imminent from the Blues.

Manchester City are close to finalising a deal for Monaco left-back Benjamin Mendy, Sky sources understand.

It's a massive summer for football, with transfers left, right and centre, not to mention pricing of players going sky high, so the £100 million mark for a single player could well be reached before the window slams shut.

Díaz says that since having a £34.5million bid turned away last summer for Mbappé, City have been very persistent by going back for him on several occasions, trying 'all possible routes' to get an agreement from Mbappé and Monaco for the teenager.

"Pep Guardiola is one of the most respected managers in the world and I feel he can help me take my game to a new level". However, this season the Spaniard will win the Premier League with City.

Manchester City have already made two quality signings in the form of midfielder Bernardo Silva and goalkeeper Ederson, now the additions of Mendy and Walker will certainly give them a whole new dimension.

After establishing himself as Tottenham's first-choice right-back, Walker was crowned PFA Young Player of the Year in 2012.

Walker is only the latest of a series of extraordinary deals in the Premier League this close season - Romelu Lukaku for £75 million, Alexandre Lacazette for £53 million, Mohamed Salah for £37 million and Jordan Pickford for £30 million. That's lower than last year, but with Bonucci a year older and his relationship with Juve a little more fractured, it seems fitting that a price drop has happened.

Boss Pep Guardiola moved fast to land Walker after Dani Alves snubbed City for a reportedly more lucrative move to Paris Saint-German. It could be a final decisive offer, ponder L'Equipe, although the amounts are unknown.
